The latest information relating to Covid-19 in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been updated.

There has been one new hospital death recorded in today's figures, involving a patient testing positive for Covid-19.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust has now risen to 190, while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it is 61.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic is now 251.

The overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – remains at 449 deaths in the 28 days after a positive test, with no rise in today's figures due to a difference in reporting times.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate remains at 473, with 50 extra registered in the week leading up to February 12, the most recent date given. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday.

Nationally a further 257 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 82,974.

Patients were aged between 23 and 98 years old. All except seven – aged 45 to 95 years old – had known underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.

The date of the deaths ranged from April 21, 2020 to February 26, 2021.

Of those, 28 were in the South West.

The overall UK figures show 290 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 122,705. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of 4pm today (Saturday, February 27) there have been 15 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the previous 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic is now 13,642.

The seven-day rolling total of cases was 189 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to February 22. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 33.1 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 7,434 in 24 hours.

This takes the total to 4,170,519 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

As of today (Saturday, February 27) 19,682,048 people in the UK had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 768,810 people had their second dose.
