MORE than 160 new positive cases have been recorded in Hampshire over the last 24 hours.

Public Health England figures - as recorded on the Government website - show that, as of 4pm today, 162 more people have tested positive for the virus in a  24 hour period.

Yesterday, 161 new cases were recorded.

This brings the county's total to 87,919 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Below are the confirmed cases by local authority in the 24 hours up to February 27:

  • Basingstoke and Deane: 9 (7,823 in total since start of pandemic)
  • East Hampshire: 6 (4,691)
  • Eastleigh: 16 (5,453)
  • Fareham: 13 (5,010)
  • Gosport: 4 (3,689)
  • Hart: 7 (4,143)
  • Havant: 8 (6,786)
  • New Forest: 7 (5,888)
  • Portsmouth: 24 (13,711)
  • Rushmoor: 5 (7,557)
  • Southampton: 45 (13,542)
  • Test Valley: 10 (5,100)
  • Winchester: 8 (4,726)
