Falmouth Town Team has announced that the planned calendar of events will still be taking place after the recent national lockdown easing announcement made by Prime Minster Boris Johnson on February 22.

Many events across the country have had to be put on hold due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, however, many businesses are now looking forward to being able to put on the events they've had planned for some time.

The list, which will be added to as and when more events are confirmed, is as follows:

  • G7 Cornwall at Carbis Bay: June 11-13.

Cornwall has been chosen as the host venue for the annual G7 Summit 2021 with Prime Ministers and Presidents from the world’s leading democracies coming together at Carbis Bay.

  • Falmouth Classics: June 11-13.

Falmouth Classics is a three day rally of classic sailing craft and other traditional vessels, including pilot gigs and motor boats.

  • Falmouth Virtual Shanty Festival: Saturday June 19 from 6pm.

The Virtual Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival will take place live on Facebook and YouTube and is one of the biggest maritime music concerts anywhere in Europe.

  • Falmouth Week: August 6-15.

Falmouth Week offers ten days worth of shoreside entertainment alongside seven days worth of fleet racing for Falmouth Sailing Week.

  • Falmouth Sailing Week (under the umbrella of Falmouth Week): August 7-14.

With yachts from many classes racing along with a lively programme of shoreside events, expect seven days of racing for keelboats, traditional craft and dinghies in the waters of Falmouth Bay and Carrick Roads.

  • Falmouth Tall Ships: August 17-19 with the Parade of Sail the afternoon of the August 19.

Falmouth has been selected as the Race Start Partner for the Tall Ships Magellan-Elcano 500 Series 2021 race.

  • Tour of Britain: Sunday September 5.

Cornwall will host the Tour of Britain, with Falmouth on the cycling route, come into town for a weekend full of activities surrounding this fantastic event!

  • Falmouth Oyster Festival: October 7-10.

The Falmouth Oyster Festival will welcome thousands of visitors to enjoy a packed programme of cookery demonstrations, live music and freshly shucked oysters.

  • Christmas Lights switch-on: Thursday November 25.

Join in the Christmas celebrations as Falmouth school children parade through the town to The Moor for the annual lights switch on.

  • Falmouth Festive Weekend December 11-12.

You can expect a festive land train, an artificial ice rink, a Victorian carousel, snowy scenes and much more! Complemented with music and dance, this is a weekend to come into town.
