A Cornish student has helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity by walking the equivalent distance of Land's End to John O' Groats in memory of his grandfather, Joe.
James Forshaw, a year eleven student from Pool Academy in Redruth, has taken on the challenge with his family and hopes to have it completed before what would have been Joe's 66th birthday on May 20.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions the family are walking individually but, in the first five days, they have already collectively covered 70 miles towards their goal of 1,084 miles
They hope to raise more than £660 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice and have already raised over £500.

James’ mother, Michelle, said: "As a family we have had a huge amount of bereavement within the last year.
"As a way of helping myself and my two sisters through the grieving process, we have decided to give back to the amazing Hospice that helped our Dad, James’ Papa Joe.
"James is kind enough to be supporting me on this challenge, completing a huge 11.2 mile walk with me recently.
"He is motivated by the opportunity to help us raise money for a very worthy cause, that supports and provides help to families like ours when it really counts."
