The latest information relating to Covid-19 in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been updated.

There have been no new hospital deaths recorded in the county in today's figures, involving patients testing positive for Covid-19.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust remains at 193, while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it stays at 61.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic is 254.

The overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – is now at 458 deaths in the 28 days after a positive test, including one in today's figures, due to a difference in reporting times.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate remains at 502. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday.

Nationally a further 184 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 83,917.

Patients were aged between 19 and 98 years old. All except six (aged 47 to 85 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from November 19, 2020 to March 3, 2021 with the majority being on or after 28 February.

Their families have been informed.

Of those, 12 were in the South West.

The overall UK figures show 242 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 124,025. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of 4.00pm today (Thursday, March 4) there have been 18 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the previous 24 hours. This is double yesterday's total.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic is now 13,698.

The seven-day rolling total of cases was 124 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to February 27. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 21.7 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 6,573 in 24 hours.

This takes the total to 4,201,358 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

As of today (Thursday, March 4) 20,982,571 people in the UK had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 963,862 people had their second dose.
