The latest information relating to Covid-19 has now been updated.

There have between no further hospital deaths recorded in the county in today's figures, involving patients testing positive for Covid-19.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust remains at 197, while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it stays at 61.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic is 258.

The overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – remains at 460 in the 28 days after a positive test, with no rise in today's figures.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate is now at 526, with 24 extra registered in the week leading up to February 26, the most recent date given. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday.

Nationally a further 145 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 84,776.

Patients were aged between 42 and 98 years old. All except 12 – aged 42 to 84 years old – had known underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.

The date of the deaths ranged from October 31, 2020 to March 9, 2021, with the majority being on or after March 5.

Of those, six were in the South West.

The overall UK figures show 190 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 124,987. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of 4pm today (Wednesday, March 10) there have been ten new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the previous 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic is now 13,760.

The weekly total has risen by one to 73 cases in the seven days leading to March 5. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

It means the weekly rate has increased very slightly to 12.8 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 5,926 in 24 hours.

This takes the total to 4,234,924 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

As of today (Wednesday, March 10) 22,809,829 people in the UK have had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 1,254,353 people have had their second dose.
