The latest information relating to Covid-19 has now been updated.

There have been no further hospital deaths recorded in the county in today's figures, involving patients testing positive for Covid-19.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust stands at 198, while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it stays at 61.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic is still 259.

The overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – remains at 461 in the 28 days after a positive test.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate remains at 526. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday.

Nationally a further 76 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 85,310.

Patients were aged between 47 and 102 years old. All except one (aged 91 years old) had known underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.

The date of their deaths ranged from December 11, 2020 to March 14, 2021 with the majority being on or after March 11.

Of these, three were in the south west.

A further 76 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 85,310.

Patients were aged between 47 and 102 years old. All except one (aged 91) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 11 December 2020 to 14 March 2021 with the majority being on or after 11 March.

Their families have been informed.

The overall UK figures show 64 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 125,580. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of 4pm today (Monday, March 15) there have been 13 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the previous 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic is now 13,831.

A series of double-figure totals means the latest weekly total has now risen to 73 cases in the seven days leading to March 10.

It means the weekly rate has also risen, to 13.3 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 5,089 in 24 hours – another drop on the past two days where the figured had risen back up above 6,000.

This takes the total to 4,263,527 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

As of today (Monday, March 15) 24,453,221 people in the UK have had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 1,610,280 people have had their second dose.
