A new grant of has helped a local holiday let company attract G7 summit business to Camborne.

SRU Ltd runs four properties in the town and, in order to help with renovation costs applied to BID Camborne for a Project A-Void grant.

BID Camborne awarded the £5000 Project A-Void which has in turn helped SRU Ltd, who turned to Camborne-based building firm Specialist Business Developments Limited, completed the works.

The renovations included improving private parking facilities and installing four high-capacity electric vehicle (EV) chargers.

SRU Ltd has now confirmed that, thanks to the completed renovations, all eleven available rooms have been booked for a ten-day period as part of the G7 event this June.

Managing Director, Harry Hart, said: "More and more people are driving electric cars and we felt it was important to provide guests with easily accessible charging points.

"We also wanted to use ‘Heligan and Glendurgan' chippings for the parking areas as they are supplied by a local provider and offer a much more attractive option than tarmac.

"The fact that their name refers back to attractions guests may visit when staying with us also made them seem more apt.
