Police have explained why so many emergency vehicles could be seen in Helston yesterday.

At least three police cars, a police van and an ambulance could be seen parked in Kingsley Way, just off one of the main road Trengrouse Way.

They attracted plenty of curious glances after arriving just before 1.30pm and remaining there almost an hour later.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police have now said: "Police were called over concerns for the welfare of a woman in Trengrouse Way, Helston, at around 1.20pm, on Tuesday, March 30.

"She was located soon after and left in the care of health professionals."

Although the vehicles could be seen parked outside Trengrouse care home, the incident was unrelated to the home.

It came just a few hours before the air ambulance could also be seen flying overhead across Helston.

People came out of their houses to watch as it circled the town a number of times at low level before landing on the pitch at Helston Rugby Club.
