The latest information relating to Covid-19 has now been updated.

There have been no further hospital deaths recorded in the county in today's figures or in the past week, involving patients testing positive for Covid-19.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust remains at 200 while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it is 62.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic remains at 262.

The overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – remains at 465 in the 28 days after a positive test.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate has still yet to update on the government dashboard and remains registering 562 up to March 19, the most recent data available. This figure is usually updated weekly on a Tuesday and included three further deaths in the last total.

Nationally a further 42 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 86,476.

Patients were aged between 33 and 98 years old. All except two patients (aged 33 and 55 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

The date of the deaths range from October 20, 2020 to April 6, 2021.

Two were in the south west. Their families have been informed.

The overall UK figures show 45 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result. This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 126,927. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of 4pm today (Wednesday, April 7) there have been just four new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the previous 24 hours, marking the second day of single figures.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic is now 14,121.

Today 80 cases have been reported in the seven days leading to April 2. The most recent five days are not shown due to incomplete data.

The weekly rate is now at 14.0 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 2,763 in 24 hours. This takes the total to 4,367,291 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

As of today (Wednesday, April 7) 31,707,594 people in the UK have had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 5,683,509 people have had their second dose.
