Disabled people are being given the opportunity once again to experience the exhilaration of powerboating, as restrictions ease in Cornwall from April 12th.

Wetwheels South West provides the opportunity for all disabled people, including those with profound and complex disabilities, to enjoy the sea in a safe, stimulating and rewarding way aboard a purpose-built, fully-accessible powerboat.

As the current restrictions ease, Wetwheels South West will be operating trips in a covid-safe way that will reassure passengers, without taking anything away from the fantastic experience they offer. The boat trips operate from Falmouth and are currently being booked for just one household or bubble at a time, with extensive cleaning between trips.

David Rogers, who runs the trips from Falmouth said: “We have been itching to get back on the water again after our amazing launch last year. We understand that many of our clients are clinically vulnerable and so have taken this into account with extensive covid-safe measures put in place.”

“Our mission is to allow anyone, regardless of disability, access to the water with our wheelchair accessible boat. The benefits of being out on the water are incredible for anyone, but particularly for people with disabilities, dementia or limited mobility who have possibly struggled to get on a boat before. We are looking forward to being able to offer these experiences to everyone again soon”.

Wetwheels South West is a purpose built, fully accessible boat that allows everyone access to the water in a safe and stimulating way. They offer a range of different trips, including fishing trips, pleasure trips into the bay and up the River Fal where you can expect to see wildlife such as seals, dolphins and even basking sharks.
