An elderly woman needed treatment and her pet cat rescued after a fire broke out in her house near Truro yesterday evening.
Crews from Truro, Tolvaddon and Perranporth fire stations were called at 6.25pm on Thursday to Shortlanesend.
It followed a 999 call about a kitchen fire at a property there.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue said: "One elderly female was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and the fire service personnel rescue the lady's cat from the house."
Two firefighters wearing breathing equipment used one hosereel jet to put out the fire.
The fire service has not revealed the cause of the fire, or its exact location, saying there are no further details for this incident.
