Cornish businesses eligible for the Government’s Restart Grant will begin to receive their payments from Monday, April 12, Cornwall Council has confirmed.
The Restart Grant is a one-off grant to support eligible rate-paying businesses in their efforts to reopen safely as coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
The Council is planning to make payments within a week of receiving the funding from Government.
Where possible, the Council will also look to make automatic payments to eligible businesses – those who have already received a Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) will not need to apply.
Businesses which believe they may be eligible for a payment, but have not applied to the LRSG scheme, can complete an application form available at www.cornwall.gov.uk/BusinessSupportGrant
The Restart Grant will be distributed in two strands based on a businesses’ rateable value:
- Up to £6,000 for businesses in the non-essential retail sector
- Up to £18,000 for businesses in the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym sector

More updates will be made available via the Council's website as they become available.
