When you think of salt and vinegar, it's usually in the context of pouring them both over a wrapped newspaper full of chips - however, the Salt & Vinegar I'm talking about is not.

Well, it is and it isn't.

The Salt & Vinegar chip shop is one of the latest additions to Falmouth town centre and had its grand opening in February, serving fish and chips, designer burgers and an assortment of sides, drinks and desserts.

Owned by Adem Yazici and his family, the Yazici's have continued the expansion of their growing business after successfully opening shops in both Camborne and Helston.

Adam said: "It's going great. It was a little hard to set up the business, but now we're there.

"Everything's going really well, we're very happy.

"We also have a branch in Camborne and one in Helston, but soon we'll be in Exmouth and Bodmin as well."

One of the unusual things about Salt & Vinegar in Falmouth is its designer burger offering, which allows customers to create their own burger from a range of items and extras.

Adam continued: "We make the base, like the beef patties, and then customers can do their own toppings."

We at The Packet decided to try out one of these designer burgers - and it did not disappoint.

The burger in question was a 6oz pulled pork burger with the addition of bacon, chorizo sausage and salad - the whole hog, if you will.

After having worked out how to eat something of its size, the burger was delicious - the pulled pork was mouth-wateringly tender, the bacon was crispy, but not too crispy, and the generous addition of chorizo sausage gave the whole thing a fiery zing that was complimented nicely by the crisp, fresh salad.

Also tasted were the spicy chicken wings which had been fried to absolute perfection, as had the French fries.

Salt & Vinegar Falmouth also serve a range of gluten-free options and customers need only let staff know of their allergens and intolerance requirements before ordering.
