A 74-YEAR-OLD woman convicted in 2018 of harassing her neighbours has been accused of breaching a restraining order made against her.

Barbera Jean Shirley Minns of 17 Daveys Close, Falmouth was originally convicted in August 2018 at Truro Magistrates Court of a two year campaign of harassment against her neighbours Gary Authers and Adele Richards.

She was sentenced to 36 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and had a restraining order made against her.

That order was for Barbera Minns not to contact Gary Authers or Adele Richards directly or indirectly and not to enter the curtilage of 15 Davey Close or loiter outside.

An application has now been made at Truro magistrates' Court to vary the restraining order originally made on August 20, 2018 after it was claimed she had breached it.

Mrs Minns, is said to have breached the restraining order by loitering outside her neighbour's property, looking up at their bedroom window and climbing on their six foot boundary wall, leaning over and being verbally abusive towards them.

The case was adjourned to May 7 for a case management hearing and to allow Mrs Minns to submit written representations.

Among the charges she was originally convicted for was having a knife in a public place at Davey's Close Falmouth, using verbal abuse and threatening her neighbours. Ripping windscreen wipers from their car and trying to slash its tyres.

Leaving rat poison mixed with pet food outside their pet's cat flap in the back door, spraying Adele Richards with a hose and having her TV on incredibly loudly so the neighbour's could hear it and trespassing in their garden late at night, as well as throwing dog poo into their garden.

CORRECTION: Since publishing this article we are happy to clarify that Ms Minns has in fact already been convicted of breaching the order, on January 14 this year, and that the most recent court hearing, on April 12 and due to resume on May 7, is simply to vary the restraining order.
