A Penryn-based circus group will be holding classes across April that focus on fitness and wellbeing.

CircoKernow, part of the Swamp Circus Trust, are putting on the classes, as well as other events, across April 16, 17, 18 at the Chyan Cultural Centre near Longdown.

The classes will take place at 11am and 2pm and last an hour and a half, with other activities such as yoga, a rolla disco and forest school also available.

Circo Kernow is the region's first and only Accredited Circus Training school, based in Cornwall.

The classes form part of the Chyan Plen, a new partnership project for health, well being and skills for life which also delivers training in organic growing and physical performance skills.

The schedule is as follows:

  • 16 April at 1pm until 3pm will be the Rolla Disco.
  • 17 April at 11am until 3.30pm will be yoga, circus, aerial skills and the forest school.
  • 18 April at 11am until 3.30pm will be yoga, circus, aerial skills and the forest school.

Parents are encouraged to stay and watch their kids perform, as well as ensuring they don't decide to run away with the circus!

Circo Kernow was established in 2002 as the educational project of Swamp Circus Trust.

It is a training provider offering accredited training and work experience to those aged 14+ who are out of work, out of education or risk of NEET.
