The latest information relating to Covid-19 has now been updated.

Figures have been unpredictable in recent days, following a change in the way cases are reported as of Friday, with a note on the Government dashboard warning that numbers that day could be "significantly lower" or zero, and should not be considered as the actual number of new cases reported on that date.

This was the case in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, where the number of new cases appeared to show zero. It also meant that the the total number of cases recorded in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic dropped from 14,127 to 14,055.

The daily figure then rose by six on Saturday with the overall total rising to 14,061 before showing zero again on Sunday, with the overall number of cases recorded since the start of the pandemic also reducing again, to 14,057.

However, they appear to have settled again and today's daily rise shows 11 new cases, taking the overall total to 14,082.

It's after a note on the Government dashboard warned on Friday: "Cases that have been identified through a positive rapid lateral flow test will be removed for people who took Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests within three days that were all negative.

"Cases of this type that were previously reported were removed from the cumulative total, reducing the total by 8,010.

"Newly reported numbers of cases for the UK and England were unaffected by the removal of these. Historical published date totals have not been changed."

The number of weekly cases is now 47 in the seven days leading to April 6. The most recent five days are not shown due to incomplete data.

The weekly rate dropped below ten for the first time in months this week and is now 8.2 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 2,472 in 24 hours. This takes the total to 4,375,814 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

NHS England has said the daily statement on hospital figures has temporarily paused for a week.

However, trust figures show that no further deaths have been recorded since last Thursday, when one further hospital death was reported at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust is still at 201 while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it remains at 62.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic is at 263.

The Government dashboard today shows that the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – remains at 465 in the 28 days after a positive test.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate now registers 565 up to April 2, the most recent data available. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday and includes one further death in the latest total.

The overall UK figures show 23 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result. This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 127,123. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of today (Tuesday, April 13) 32,250,481 people in the UK have had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 7,857,396 people have had their second dose.
