Police have given an update on a man from Falmouth they wanted to speak to as part of an investigation.

Yesterday officers asked for the public's help in finding 39-year-old Nicholas Carter.

They said he was wanted in connection with an investigation into an alleged burglary and act of criminal damage.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said Carter had links to both the Falmouth and Newquay areas, adding at the time: "Enquiries have been made by police to locate him and officers are now appealing to the public for information on his whereabouts and to report any sightings."

People were asked to call 999 if they saw him and not approach him.

This afternoon a police spokesperson gave an update.

They said that officers had now found and arrested Carter, adding: "Police would like to thank the public for their support."
