The latest information relating to Covid-19 has now been updated.

Today's daily rise shows 14 new cases in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, taking the overall total since the start of the pandemic to 14,140.

There has been a slightly decrease in the number of weekly cases, which has fallen back to 52 in the seven days leading up to April 14, following a sudden jump to 54 yesterday - compared to a weekly total of 44 on Saturday and 43 on Friday.

As a result the weekly rate has also fallen back to 9.2 cases per 100,000 people, from the 9.4 cases per 100,000 yesterday that came after 7.7 cases on Saturday and 7.5 cases on Friday.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 2,963 in 24 hours. This takes the total to 4,390,783 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

NHS England hospital figures have still not resumed after the health body said last week that the daily statement had temporarily paused for a week.

However, trust figures show that no further deaths have been recorded since April 8, when one further hospital death was reported at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust is still at 201 while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it remains at 62.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic is at 263.

The Government dashboard today shows that the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – has risen to 468 in the 28 days after a positive test, including two new deaths in the daily total. It is thought these may be the two further deaths reported at a Sidmouth care home in an update from Devon and Cornwall Police on Friday.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate now registers 565 up to April 12, the most recent data available. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday and includes one further death in the latest total.

The overall UK figures show four more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result. This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 127,274. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of today (Monday, April 19) 32,932,448 people in the UK have had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 10,152,039 people have had their second dose.
