A popular food delivery service will be live in Falmouth as of today.

Uber Eats has be absent from Falmouth since its launch in the UK in 2016, however, the delivery service will now be available to deliver food from local restaurants as of today.

The popular app will enable customers to receive their next meal directly to their door at the touch of a button.

For local restaurants, the Uber Eats app will mean more business with more options for delivery and thousands of potential new customers.

The move could also mean more jobs for the area with deliveries taking place across Falmouth meaning drivers will be required to keep the service going regularly.

Toussaint Wattinne, General Manager of Uber Eats in the UK, said: "We are really excited to be launching in Falmouth, firstly with McDonald’s, and a host of local restaurants joining in the coming weeks.

"We hope to make it even easier for local residents to enjoy a variety of delicious food both comfortably and safely."

Food delivery giants Uber Eats have been expanding its services across the UK and Cornwall, with services available in place in Truro, St Ives, Newquay, Penryn, Torpoint.

This means that customers will be able to get their favourite foods direct to their door, with the likes of Mcdonald's being one of the most popular choices across the country.

All deliveries made via the app are contactless, and Uber Eats has also introduced measures to help ensure that every courier can access PPE for free.

The app is available every day of the week from 8:00am - midnight.
