The latest information relating to Covid-19 has now been updated.

Today's daily rise shows just three new cases in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, following a fall to seven yesterday, taking the overall total since the start of the pandemic to 14,229.

The weekly cases have fallen to 55 in the seven days leading up to April 26 – the most recent five days not shown due to incomplete data. This is a further fall from 56 in yesterday's update.

As a result the weekly rate has also fallen slightly again to 9.6 cases per 100,000 people, compared to 9.8 cases per 100,000 people yesterday.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 1,907 in 24 hours. This takes the total to 4,418,530 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

NHS England hospital figures have still not resumed, after a two-week absence, despite the health body saying that the daily statement was only temporarily paused for a week.

However, trust figures today show that there have been no further deaths recorded since April 23, which took place at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust two days earlier.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust remains at 202 while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it remains at 62.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic is now 264.

The Government dashboard reports that the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – remains at 469 in the 28 days after a positive test.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate is now 569 in the most recent data available. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday and includes two further deaths in the latest total.

The overall UK figures show seven more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result. This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 127,524. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of today (Saturday, May 1) 34,346,273 people in the UK have had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 14,940,984 people have had their second dose.
