A handmade craft fair will be returning to Marazion every week throughout the summer months this year.

From May 17 until the end of September, a new handmade crafts fair will be taking up residency at the All Saints Church Hall in Marazion.

Every Monday from 10am to 4pm, entry will be free and tea and cakes will also be available at the dog-friendly fair.

Ali Thomas who has run the fair for the last three years said: "I've been running it for three years now.

"Last year we didn't run it because of Covid, but we've run it three years previous to that.

"I'd done my own arts and crafts and was renting a table out at other crafts fairs, mostly in St Ives, but then when i was pregnant with my boy I realised that for me to justify having a day at work I would need to guarantee an income.

"And sometimes when you've got a stall at fairs you sell loads of things, and sometimes you sell nothing at all, so it's a bit hit and miss.

"To make it a sustainable income, I thought I'd set up my own craft fair and Marazion seemed like the perfect location due to the amount of tourists.

"It meant that I could carry on doing the craft fairs while having a baby, and have that social side of my businesses because all the stall owners that have a stall with me are really friendly and it's like having colleagues.

"It's very nice to bounce off them and get critical feedback on your work and ideas on how to expand as a company and things like that, it's like having colleagues, which is great when you're self employed.

"The response (has been) great, it's mostly people that are in Marazion for the day so I put signage up all along the front main car park and through the town directing people to the fair in All Saints Church Hall.

"So yeah we get a steady flow of people."

Starting May 17, the Marazion Crafts Fair will be every Monday from 10am until 4pm.
