Tributes have been paid after a man found lying in the street with head wounds dies from his injuries.

Police and paramedics were called to Higher Pumpfield Row, Pool, at around 12.05am on Monday, May 3 following reports of a man lying injured in the road.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. He died in hospital on Wednesday May 5.

The next of kin have been informed.

The man was identified locally as Lee Gunn with tributes being paid on Facebook.

David Sullivan posted: "Rip Lee Gunn only talking to you other day mate...thinking of family at this sad time."

Suzanne Louise Curnow posted: "Rip Lee Gunn, fly high mate."

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A police cordon remains in place at the scene.

  • A 26-year-old man and two women, aged 25 and 34, have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They have been released on police bail until 31 May while enquiries continue.
