The air ambulance was scrambled to a remote Cornish beauty spot this afternoon after an elderly woman was injured.
Coastguards from Porthoustock and Mullion were also called out to St Anthony, near Manaccan on the Lizard Peninsula.
Both teams were paged at 12.30pm, to help move a casualty from the beach to the waiting helicopter.
The 84-year-old woman had fallen on rocks, and suffered a bad cut to her head and possible concussion.
After first aid from an ambulance crew, the woman was stretchered to the helicopter to be airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
A spokesperson for Porthoustock Coastguard said: "On arrival team members assessed the casualty, who had head wounds and neck pains.
"A collar was placed on the casualty as a precaution and bandages compressed over head injuries.
"Once the ambulance arrived on scene a detailed handover was completed for them to begin their assessment. Concerned with a possible neck or back injury the air ambulance was requested.
"Team members from both teams assisted in transferring the casualty onto the helicopter, where the casualty was taken for further care."
With Porthoustock the lead coastguard team for that area, Mullion volunteers were drafted in as back-up.
