The G7 Leader's Summit is set to take place across the weekend of June 11-13.

But, away from the summit itself, organisations all over Cornwall – from volunteer and community groups to green energy providers and charities – are taking the opportunity to create their own, alternative G7, where they’ll focus on the issues that are important to them.

Cornwall Council is bringing all these different events together into one place under the banner of 'An Event for Everyone.'

Some of the events taking part in the Event for Everyone scheme are as follows:

Cornwall Schools' Eco Conference 2021 - June 7.

The Cornwall Schools’ Eco-Conference will tie in with this year's G7 Summit in Cornwall.

It will be a virtual event, attended by the Student Eco Council of every Cornish secondary school and students from international partner schools.

Students will explore the G7 priority areas through interactive workshops and videos from values-driven Cornish businesses, not-for-profit organisations, young entrepreneurs and young environmental activists.

World Oceans Day Sustainable Growth Conference - June 8

Exeter University, in partnership with the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce will hold a virtual conference with a wide range of speakers and masterclasses for businesses and anyone committed to creating solutions for sustainable economies and communities.

This conference will demonstrate how Cornwall has taken a lead in understanding and delivering sustainability in the County, connecting to leading changes in agritech, education, health, energy, and reducing inequality, that will deliver a more sustainable future.

Global Offshore Wind (FLOW) Conference 2021 - June 11

Global Floating Offshore Wind (FLOW) will play a significant part in the global fight against climate change, however industrialisation and scale up needs to be accelerated in order to meet global net zero targets.

Sitting at the heart of the European Offshore Renewable Energy resource areas, including the UK’s world leading offshore wind market, Cornwall is playing a leading role with colleagues across the UK and beyond in driving this acceleration.

If you’re running an event of your own and would like to see it listed, you can get in touch with the Council by email at G7cornwall@cornwall.gov.uk.
