The photos of the week this week all come from the mid to late 70's, and were printed in the Helston Packet after the Helston Harvest Fair Pet show.

Included in the journey through time that is these eight photographs are six dogs, a rabbit, and a cat who may well have been caught off guard by the flash of the camera.

Pet shows seem to be a fading phenomena, with the closest this author can think of being the annual Crufts events that take place, however, these seem much more exclusive than the pet show seen here.

It's hard to imagine anyone allowing their Alsatian to share an ice cream with them during these times of social distancing and face masks.

If you recognise any of the images, or took part in the event all those years ago, feel free to let us know in the comments or get in touch with the Museum of Cornish Life.
