Fans of TV motoring programme Top Gear can look forward to a treat in the next series after the show was spotted filming in Cornwall.

Staff at the Perranporth Inn captured a shot of the presenters Paddy McGuiness, Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris driving past on Sunday, during filming.

In the picture posted to Facebook, the presenters appear to be travelling in a white VW Beetle, a mustard yellow Lada Niva and a silvery grey-coloured MG Sebring, as part of a new challenge for the show.

It is understood the cast and crew were in Cornwall for a few days at the end of last week and over the weekend.

A number of locations have since been confirmed for where they filmed, including Perranporth Airfield, the Headland Hotel in Newquay, Bodmin Moor and Davidstow Airfield.

The challenge involved them driving 40-year-old cars from Devon to Cornwall, as part of a segment looking at a different way to approach cars for first-time drivers.

It is thought to be the first time that the programme has been to this part of the country with this set of presenters.
