A Cornwall-based celebrity chef has curated his own travelling festival that will be taking place across Cornwall at the end of summer, but what's it all about?

The Travelling Feast festival is the brainchild and creation of Cornwall-based Chef and Restaurateur, Paul Ainsworth, and will be stopping off at some of the most idyllic locations across Cornwall from August 6 - 20.

With staycations in the UK looking to be one of the most popular choices amongst British holidaymakers this year, Cornwall will no doubt see a high percentage of tourists and travellers visiting and exploring.

With this in mind, we spoke to Paul Ainsworth about why he chose Cornwall for the location of the festival, what the Duchy means to him and what to expect when it finally arrives.

Paul told The Packet: "We're just trying to come up with something really different, really exciting.

"I came up with the idea based on the old Radio One roadshow, and I love those American street food trucks and that whole kind of vibe.

"So Brand Events and myself thought, 'could we do a food and music festival but then travel from location to location and just visit some of the most beautiful, stunning and iconic locations in Cornwall.

"And because it's travelling, you're then curating together some brilliant food trucks and trailers, the type of food that's delicious anytime but is always that next level delicious at a festival.

"There'll be great music, and around that brilliant drinks, great sideshows, chef's demos, a whole mixture of that circus, fairground, festival feel.

"We'll stay for two nights then pack it all up, jump on the road and go to the next location, that's kind of the idea."

When it comes to choosing locations to stage the event, Paul says the idea was to find Cornish spots that would showcase the beauty on offer in Cornwall.

"We travelled round Cornwall looking for locations that would suit what we're trying to do, but also that would just blow people away.

"A lot of these places are exclusive access because you find a lot of them don't open up to the public unless it weddings or big events, places like Boconnoc, the Chaos farm, we've got this spectacular big spot down on the Helford Pass, so the backdrops and locations we've got are just beautiful."

Being a Cornwall local himself, Paul was also eager to take the opportunity to do something for the people who live and work in Cornwall.

"I moved to Cornwall in 2005 and, over 15 years, we've built his small collection of businesses, and it's just always been about keeping it in Cornwall and not setting up, making a name for ourselves and then taking what we do out of Cornwall.

"So everything I try and do is always based in Cornwall, and this for me was just an amazing opportunity to do something for that's brilliant for the people that live in Cornwall, as well as the visitors.

"So for me, it was never even in our plan to go further afield, it was always just let's create this absolutely awesome summer holiday Cornish road trip.
