The Post Office is proposing to relocate St Keverne Post Office to another part of the village.

Currently based in a building of its own, it wants to relocate the office to across the other side of the square, to the Spar shop that has taken over St Keverne Stores.

A Post Office spokesperson said: "The branch has been operated on our behalf by a temporary postmaster while we sought an alternative location to offer Post Office services to the area.

"This proposed move to incorporate a post office and SPAR Wessex Retail will safeguard post office services in the community."

There would be a Post Office serving point provided at the retail counter, available during shop opening hours.

There would be new opening hours from Monday to Sunday, 7am to 9pm – something the Post Office said would offer 98 hours of its services, including Sunday opening.

The branch would operate as a "local style" branch, and would offer the same range of products and services, it said.

The spokesperson added: "The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the proposed move to Spar Wessex Retail in a public consultation.

"We are looking for feedback about accessibility, local community issues and anything that we can do to make life easier for our customers."

Feedback on the proposed move will close on July 14. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 229555.
