As a charity, the Air Ambulance relies on the generosity of community groups, individuals and businesses to help raise the £4.5million a year it needs to conduct its vital work and in 2019, Sharp’s was the first Major Appeal Sponsor for the New Heli Appeal with its donation of £10,000.

Prior to that the Rock-based brewery supported the lifesaving charity for more than six years, providing beer for fundraising events and taking part in fundraising activity.

Communications manager, Rachel Williams says: "Being based in such a rural location, we are very aware of the vital service the air ambulance provides – a service that we all hope we’ll never need but are so grateful to have.

"We have a number of employees who owe their health to the quick response of the air ambulance, after incidents ranging from a terrifying surfing injury to a road traffic accident and a heart attack. "With this trek we hope to build on our previous support and say thanks to the charity to which so many owe their lives.

"We appreciate it’s been a challenging year for many financially, but with a very busy summer season ahead the Air Ambulance will potentially be more in demand than ever so they really need our support right now.

"We are really proud and excited to be taking on this challenge and raising as much as we possibly can for this vital charity, so if you are able to donate even a small amount to help us on the way to our target, we’d be very grateful.

"And we’ll raise a glass to you after the trek!"
