A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman near Truro.

Lee Kendall had been charged with the murder of Michaela Hall.

The 42-year-old, of Charlotte Close in Mount Hawke, was remanded in custody and appeared at Truro Magistrates’ Court on Saturday where he was charged that between May 30 and June 2, 2021 in Truro he murdered Michaela Hall.

His case was transferred to Truro Crown Court and a further hearing was held today (Monday) via video link.

The next hearing date has been set for June 28, which will be a 'plea and trial preparation hearing'.

Kendall will remain in custody until that time.

A trial date has been set for January 10, 2022 and is expected to last five days, although the court heard this could be reviewed at the next hearing.

Last Friday Detective Inspector Stephanie Blundell, from the force’s Major Crime Investigation Team, and the senior investigating officer, continued to appeal for information.

She said: “I would still like to speak to anyone who believes they have information about this incident.

“It’s not too late to contact police and any information you have could be invaluable to the investigation."
