A MAN sustained serious injury after a collision between a skip lorry and a car in Scorrier this morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the collision between the lorry and a grey Peugeot car on the B3298 Tolgullow near Scorrier, Redruth at 7.14am this morning.

Police, ambulance and Cornwall Fire and Rescue were called to the scene of the crash in which one man sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske for emergency treatment.

Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the collision to or caught anything on their dashcam to contact them. The road was closed to allow an examination of the scene of the accident to take place. They thanked the public for their understanding.

A statement from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "At 7.14am on Wednesday 09th June 2021, police, ambulance and Cornwall Fire and Rescue were called to the scene of a collision on the B3298 Tolgullow near Scorrier, Redruth.

"Two vehicles were involved - a skip lorry and a grey Peugeot car. One man sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske for emergency treatment.

"Police would ask that if anyone has witnessed the collision, or may have relevant dash camera footage, and have not already spoken with Police, that they make contact by phoning 101 or via the Devon and Cornwall Police website and quote log 156 09/06/21.

"Once a full examination of the scene was conducted the road was re-opened. Police would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed."
