The hotel that hosted the G7 leaders for the 2021 summit in Cornwall has spoken of its "immense pride."

The Carbis Bay Estate was chosen as the location for the series of talks and debates that took place around the summit table.

In posts on its its Facebook and Twitter accounts, the hotel described it as an "unforgettable experience."

The hotel wrote: "The 2021 G7 Summit has officially come to a close.

"Carbis Bay Estate is immensely proud to have welcomed Prime Ministers and Presidents from the world’s leading democracies to the estate as guests and to host the all-important leaders' meeting itself.

"We were fortunate to have wonderful weather which showed off the breathtaking beauty of our bay to the world.

"An unforgettable experience for all our staff, our team worked to provide flawless, 24-hour service to the leaders and their delegates.

"We accommodated hundreds of event staff, national press and, security, all of whom contributed towards such a successful event, to whom we express our thanks.

"As the eyes of the world were on Cornwall, we hope they saw not only its distinctive beauty and rich history, but also witnessed a region that is innovative and forward-thinking.

"We wish everyone a safe journey home and we hope the leaders will return once again to Carbis Bay and enjoy the wonderful Cornish hospitality."
