Thieves are being blamed after a bench outside a health centre in Falmouth installed as a thank you for hardworking district nurses during the pandemic has gone missing.

A member of staff at Falmouth Health Centre said she was left 'disgusted' after turning up to work and discovering that a wooden bench had gone missing yesterday morning (June 23).

The benches had been installed as the result of funding received by the health centre for the hard work of its staff over the course of the pandemic.

In an update on her social media profile, Sue Munday, an NHS community administrator for district nurses, said: "Stolen wooden bench from outside the Falmouth Health Centre. We had been given funding for two wooden benches for our hardworking district nurses, especially over the Covid period, and I came in yesterday morning to find one has been stolen!

"Shameful and disgusting as this is where, on rare occasions, can sit outside and enjoy their lunches. "Please if you know anyone that has acquired or bought one of these or is selling one please let me know. "I have reported this so hopefully the horrid people will get caught as it’s very distinctive with the plaque on the side."

Both Falmouth Health Centre and Devon and Cornwall Police have been contacted for a comment.
