Muddy Beach Cafe has announced it is closing for another week saying it is 'struggling a bit right now'.

The waterside cafe in Penryn originally announced it was being forced to close on June 12 after a member of staff testing positive for Covid. At the time it said it would reopening in ten days.

However yesterday evening the restaurant posted that after struggling with staffing issues last week it had made the decision to close again until July 6.

"We struggled a bit last week with staffing and sadly this week we have made the decision to close until Tuesday 6th July," they said in a post on its Facebook page.

"We will be back with a new bigger menu, opening for breakfast, lunch & dinner inside & outside and yes you can now book through our website.

"We are sorry for not being open, we really are trying our best and we really hope that we remain open from next week.

"This isn’t a sympathy post- it’s real life, we are struggling a bit right now like everywhere else!"

"See you next week and if you want to support us, the best thing you can do is book a table through our website."

The closure comes as businesses in Falmouth and Penryn continue to struggle with a spike in Covid cases in the area and a shortage of staff.

The management of the the Gylly Beach Cafe announced recently it was reducing its opening hours saying the industry was 'on its knees' due to staff shortages.
