The Cornish Pirates have mapped out on the home pitch Mennaye Field, Penzance, the floor plan of the main stand for the new Stadium for Cornwall to be built at Langarth near Truro.

Anyone interested at looking at the plans for the stadium that has been recently moved into community ownership in order by Pirates Owner Dicky Evans is welcome to visit the Mennaye Field between 12pm and 4pm on Thursday July 15.

The cost of the project is estimated at £14.3m. In April 2018 Cornwall Council pledged to fund three million pounds towards the project when council members voted 69-41 to back the project.

The ground, set to be situated in Langarth near Truro, will be shared by the Cornish Pirates and Truro City but has encountered numerous delays in terms of funding and complications regarding planning permission.

Recently Mr Evans provided an update as to the latest news surrounding the stadium, saying: "I will be moving the stadium into community ownership to protect this now and in perpetuity.

"There are legal agreements to sort out but there is a new wider team from across Cornwall business, education and community leading on new uses that make it an amazing place for everyone.

"This project is so much more than a match day experience for fans. We are building partnerships that will protect the use of the venue for the community for the 325 non match days per year."
