Firefighters tackled a large hay fire along a 100 metre front in a field yesterday evening.
The crew from Truro were called to the fire in a field at Probus at 4:50pm.
once there they called for back up from Truro and St Austell to tackle the fire, along with a water carrier from Helston.
They used a hose reel and beaters to put out the flames which had taekn hold on a large quantity of hay and were spread along a 100 metre front.
A report from fire critical control in Truro said: "At 16:50 the Critical Control Centre mobilised one appliance from Truro to a fire in the open in the Probus area.
"Once in attendance Truro requested a further two appliances. Further appliances from Truro and St Austell were also mobilised, along with the Water Carrier from Helston.
"Firefighters are using one hose reel and two beaters to extinguish a large quantity of hay, across a 100 metre front. Good progress is being made and crews are checking for hotspots."
