The latest Coronavirus figures for Cornwall have been released for today with no new deaths recorded and a fall in cases.

Today's Covid round-up of the number of new daily cases in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly stands at 163 in the last 24 hours, compared to 220 on Sunday.

The total number of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result (either lab-reported or lateral flow device) in the most recent seven-day period given, which is on a delay, stands slightly down at 2,220 in the seven days leading up to July 21. The most recent five days is not given due to incomplete data.

This means the weekly case rate average stands at 385.1 cases per 100,000 people, down from 408.7 cases reported yesterday.

The overall total of cases in Cornwall since the start of the pandemic is now 22,699.

The daily number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of today (July 26), has gone up by 24,950 a drop on 29,173 on Sunday.

This takes the total of cases since the start of the pandemic to 5,722,298.

NHS England hospital daily figures are now being published every weekday, rather than every day.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in the Duchy’s hospitals since the start of the pandemic is currently still showing 275.

Deaths recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust currently show one on Thursday, July 22, following the one on Wednesday (July 21) and another on Monday (July 19). The total number recorded at the hospital trust since the start of the pandemic is shown as 213, while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it currently remains at 62.

The government update shows the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – is up one at 478 in the 28 days after a positive Covid test.

The number of deaths in Cornwall simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate is now at 579 in the most recent data available. It shows three new deaths in the week leading up to Friday, July 9, the most recent date given.

The overall UK figures show that 14 more people have died within 28 days of their first positive test result, down from 28 on Sunday. Total UK deaths within 28 days since the start of the pandemic stands at 129,172. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

Up to Sunday, July 25 a total of 46,589,211 people in the UK have had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 37,287,384 have had their second dose.

In Cornwall it is 422,051 with their first dose and 347,014 with their second.
