A new cider from a brewery in Cornwall has been awarded silver in an international awards competition.

Rock-based Sharp’s Brewery’s newly-launched Cold River Cider has earned recognition at the prestigious International Cider Challenge (ICC).

Just months after being rolled out in the UK in bars and restaurants, Cold River Cider was awarded a silver medal in the New World Cider Category at this year’s event.

The highly-respected International Cider Challenge is now in its eleventh year, with a panel of 30 judges comprised supermarket buyers, independent retailers, cider experts, journalists and cider-makers.

Sharp’s Cold River Cider is a collaboration between Sharp’s Brewery’s Cornish team and Aspall Cyder House’s Suffolk team, combining Aspall’s three centuries of expertise and Sharp’s renowned innovative thinking to create a new premium 4.5% ABV medium-dry apple cider.

The team at Sharp’s Brewery has an established history of award-winning, creative collaborations, working with quality producers such as Camel Valley Vineyards and Southwestern Distillery on Camel Valley Pilsner and The Hopster Gin respectively in recent years.
