People across Cornwall have been sharing their experiences of Storm Evert on social media after strong winds battered the county.

After winds of up to 75mph swept across much of Cornwall last night, residents have taken to social media to share their experiences of the storm, with many posting pictures and videos.

Two campers in Cornwall have been taking to social media to share their experiences of being in a tent as the storm winds hit.

One of the campers posted a video of her and a friend inside their tent as the winds pick up during a camping trip.

The video shows how the winds attempted to throw their tent around and tested how well it was pegged down.

As well as testing tents, a video was also captured and shared online of a person standing on the breakwater at Porthleven as the waves raged around him.

It was speculated that the man was taking pictures of the storm before later being confirmed as having returning to safety.
