A 'Magical' Museum of magic and folklore has opened in the vault of one of newest entertainment venues.
On Saturday July 24 the" Museum of magic and folklore - west Cornwall" was launched in "The Cornish bank" (Bar, cafe and arts) on 34 Church Street, Falmouth.
The museum is situated in the basement of the bank where the vault was.
The launch was well attended by folks from the length and breadth of Cornwall. After a short talk on the history of the museum by its curator Steve Patterson the museum situated in the old 18th century vaults beneath the "Cornish Bank" was opened.
Beneath the bustling streets of Falmouth the museum is an atmospheric and evocative collection of artifacts and tales from the twilight world of Cornish folklore; including the "Kasek nos" who heads the procession at Penzances midwinter Montol festivities and the eerie "Witches cradle" ...a lost exhibit restored.
The museum will be open from Tuesday to Saturday throughout the summer in Falmouth.
