Round-up of yesterday's daily coronavirus figures.

The number of daily cases in yesterday’s Covid daily round-up from the Government in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly fell to 214 in the last 24 hours.

The total number of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result (either lab-reported or lateral flow device) in the most recent seven-day period given, which is on a delay, fell to 1,523 in the seven days leading up to July 25. The most recent five days is not given due to incomplete data.

This means the weekly case rate average now stands at 266.4 cases per 100,000 people.

The overall total of cases in Cornwall since the start of the pandemic is now 23,774.

The daily number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of yesterday day, July 31, had gone up by 26,144, a slight fall on the day before.

This takes the total of cases since the start of the pandemic to 5,856,528.

NHS England hospital daily figures are now being published every weekday, rather than every day.

Deaths recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust currently show two on Tuesday, July 27. The total number recorded at the hospital trust since the start of the pandemic is shown as 215, while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it currently remains at 62.

The government update shows the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – is at 481 in the 28 days after a positive Covid test.

The number of deaths in Cornwall simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate is now at 581 in the most recent data available. It shows two new deaths in the week leading up to Friday, July 16, the most recent date given.

The overall UK figures show that 71 more people have died within 28 days of their first positive test result, down from 85 yesterday. Total UK deaths within 28 days since the start of the pandemic stands at 129,654. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

Up to Saturday, July 31 a total of 46,811,298 people in the UK have had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 38,126,702 have had their second dose.

In Cornwall it is 423,293 with their first dose and 351,606 with their second.
