Members of staff from a Penryn-based mental health charity have been recognised at a national awards ceremony last week.

Team members from the Mental Health Charity Sea Sanctuary, who work within Children’s Residential Services, travelled to Birmingham on Wednesday to the National Children & Young People Awards ceremony.

Mollie McIlroy and Emily Powell were nominated by their colleagues for the awards and, after being interviewed by the awards panel, they were shortlisted in the Support Worker and Newcomer categories.

The Awards celebrate excellence in care for children, young people, and families, showcase innovation and best practice in this area as well as paying tribute to those individuals or organisation who excel in quality care provision.

Both Emily and Mollie won in their respective categories, with Emily being named winner of The Newcomer Award and Mollie winning The Support Worker Award.
