Falmouth and Penryn Cycling campaign took to the streets on Saturday, July 31 to show how much support there is for cycling in the local area and to campaign for safer cycling options.

Taking a three mile route from Penryn, via Falmouth station up around Pendennis Point and down to Gyllyngvase Beach, around 30 cyclists from veterans to babies on cycle seats came together for a sociable leisurely ride.

Sinead Hanks, a Penryn Town Councillor who helped organise the event said:

“Many people hadn’t been on their bikes in months, in one case years. We know that community events like this give confidence to new or returning cyclists and if there were better protection from vehicles many more would get on their bikes. Most of us are motorists or pedestrians too so it's important to find solutions that work well for everyone.”
