Falmouth Week organisers have confirmed that tonight's firework display will be taking place as planned.

After disappointment on Wednesday, when the Red Arrows were forced to pull out at the last minute due to poor weather conditions, the forecast for this evening (Friday) is looking much clearer for the popular fireworks event.

It will be taking place tonight at 10pm over Falmouth Harbour, which always provides the perfect backdrop to reflect the colourful display in the water below.

The show will illuminate the inner harbour and skyline, with plenty of vantage points through the town to enjoy the show from.

Viewing points include all along Falmouth Harbour, Events Square, Custom House Quay, Prince of Wales Pier and the Docks Lookout Point.

The display is being staged thanks to a partnership between Falmouth Town Council and Smart Pyrotechnics.

It comes near the end of this year's 80s vs 90s event, which has been relocated to an area on the Church Street Car Park, and organisers have promised anyone attending that they will have the perfect view while dancing.

This year's 80s vs 90s evening features Liberty X, Ultrabeat and Big Ben from Phats and Small.

Should the weather turn bad at the last moment, the postponement date is tomorrow (Saturday), again at 10pm.
