ShowersToYou.co.uk sought to determine the highest rated dog-friendly beaches in the UK.

A seed list of 151 dog-friendly beaches in the UK was acquired from https://www.thebeachguide.co.uk/dog-friendly. Dog-friendly is defined by those without any restrictions on dogs. User ratings and reviews were then scraped from Google for each dog-friendly beach contained within the sample.

A weighted average was then calculated in order to attain a weighted overall rating. Beaches that did not have Google Maps ratings and reviews were excluded from the study. To compare dog-friendly beaches with varying numbers of ratings and reviews, the Bayesian Average was determined from the weighted overall rating.

The final Bayesian Averages were then ranked in descending order. Data was collected between August 2-4  2021 and is subject to change.
