A Mobile Post Office service is starting next month in Mousehole to maintain service after the resignation of the Postmaster.

The Postmaster for Mousehole has resigned and the branch is to close at 18 Northcliff, on 25 September.

A spokesperson for the Post Office said the organisation is pleased to be able to reinstate the service as a temporary Mobile service, whilst it continues to seek a permanent solution.

The new Mobile Post Office service will operate from The Solomon Browne Memorial Hall car park, Duck Street, Mousehole, Penzance, TR19 6QW from Thursday 30 September.

The service will be available every Thursday: 12.15 – 1.30pm.

This Post Office service will be located approximately 100 metres away from Mousehole branch.

This service will be operated by the postmaster from St Clare Street Post Office.

To accommodate the new Mobile service in Mousehole there will be some changes to the current Mobile service, also provided by St Clare Street Post Office, at Newlyn and Carbis Bay from 30 September.

Similar schemes are currently in operation in places around Cornwall such as Budock Water.

Matt Walls, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: "We are pleased to be providing a Mobile Post Office service whilst we continue to look for a permanent solution."
