The Cornish Pirates rugby union team have announced its scheduled friendlies, along with ticket prices for the games.

Following on from the Cornish Pirates pre-season friendly scheduled at home against the Royal Navy on Friday September 3, the team’s second and final friendly encounter will also be played at home, against Premiership side Worcester Warriors, on Saturday 11 September.

Ticket and Hospitality arrangements have been confirmed, with ticket prices as follows: Truro & Penwith College Grandstand £20, Microcomms Stand £13, Terrace £10.

Please note a £0.75 admin charge per ticket applies.

Supporters are being advised to note that, because of Covid protocols, the usual ‘sit anywhere ticket’ for a pre-season match at this stage will not apply except for season ticket holders, due to attendance in each area needing to be managed to make it easier for stewards.

Barring a sell-out, at this stage organisers expect that tickets will be available to purchase on the day.

For those interested in booking hospitality in the ITEC sponsored Marquee, where a selection of pies, potatoes and veg will be served from 3pm, the cost per head for food (including VAT) is £15.

The Pirates and Warriors, who have faced each other several times in the past, have forged a healthy relationship, remembering that Warriors centre Will Butler had a spell dual-registered at the Pirates last season, whilst Cornish prop Jay Tyack has moved from the Pirates to the Warriors.

As he looks forward to welcoming the Warriors, Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Alan Paver said: "We have a good relationship with Worcester, and this is an ideal opportunity to get such a game on.

"I think it will be valuable to both teams – for them to play against an experienced Championship side and to help new faces bed in, whilst we will be aiming to challenge ourselves against a Premiership outfit, as we ideally like to do each year."

"For supporters, and the team, it should be a great occasion – one we will very much look forward to together."
