The coastguard and ambulance services attended an incident in Swanpool today after a person was reportedly taken to hospital following a fall.

Eyewitnesses at Swanpool Beach, near Falmouth, described how emergency services reportedly took the casualty to hospital after they were carried in face-down on a canoe.

It is thought the initial rescue allegedly involved a man who is known to hire out canoes in the area and is well-known for giving aid in such situations.

The canoe was carried across the beach by a number of people, with the person allegedly still lying face down on it, and a handover to ambulance crews reportedly took place.

It is believed they had fallen down a cliff, or from rocks, in the vicinity of Pennance Point, however, precise details are yet to be confirmed.
