On 31st August 2021, Rosemullion Veterinary Practice finally opened the doors to their new state-of the-art veterinary hospital located at Tregoniggie Industrial Estate, Falmouth.

Easily accessible from Bickland Water Road, the new hospital offers existing and new pet owners an exciting range of services and facilities and a totally new experience when visiting the vets!

“Having outgrown our premises in Melvill Road we’re delighted we will now have the space to give our clients the level of service we want without tripping over each other and we will have the space and staffing to offer more appointments and at times more convenient to our clients” said Susan Hawkins, Practice Director.

More Space and Facilities

Susan explained: “The new hospital building is significantly bigger and has all the space we need in a central location with plenty of parking fully accessible to all our clients. It will continue to complement the services offered by our branches in Penryn and Helston.  We now have seven consulting rooms, three operating theatres, separate cat and dog waiting areas and wards to minimise stress for our patients and a wide range of the latest veterinary equipment including a CT scanner and a visiting MRI scanner.   We have a growing team of experienced first opinion / general practice vets alongside our referrals team of Advanced Practitioners, all assisted by our nursing and support teams.   You can meet the team on our website. We welcome all companion animal species – dogs, cats, rabbits and exotics (including birds, other small mammals, tortoises and other reptiles).

Advanced Veterinary Care

“The new site gives us the space and equipment we need to give high class first opinion services for our loyal / regular clients as well as expand our referral services for our own clients and clients from other local practices,” continues Helena Wilkes, Veterinary Surgeon and Clinical Director.    “Our aim is to expand our areas of expertise so that we can offer a higher level of advanced veterinary care to our patients to reduce the need to travel outside of the county for complex cases.  Our referral services include Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery, Cardiology, Advanced Imaging and Exotics and we have vets in training to offer Internal Medicine and Emergency and Critical Care referrals soon too.”

Falmouth Packet:

24 Hour Emergency Care

The new hospital continues to operate a 24 hour emergency service on-site which, later in September, will be run by MiNightVet Falmouth – a dedicated emergency out of hours provider with a team of full-time night staff who will be alert, awake and effective even at unsociable hours.  Their qualified vets and nurses have a special interest, experience and training in all aspects of urgent critical care, many of them will be familiar faces who have moved into nights from our day-time team.   “By providing our own on-site inpatient and emergency service, our clients’ pets benefit from continuity of care and are treated in a familiar place 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, concluded Susan.

Pets on Holiday

As Falmouth is a very popular holiday destination, the hospital also welcomes holidaymakers’ pets for treatment during normal opening hours and out of hours.
